From 1984 to 1988, he was Assistant Professor of Surgery, Biomechanical Engineering, University of Texas Branch, Galveston, Texas. From l988 to the present, he has been an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Adjunct Associate Professor of Bioengineering. Dr. Tencer is a key figure in the research endeavors of the residents and fellows. As the full time director of the Biomechanics laboratory, Dr. Tencer has the expertise to analyze and critique the projects on an ongoing basis. He provides the very important skill of helping to design the testing method to evaluate the principle under scientific consideration. Dr. Tencer has a very acute knowledge of the clinical scenario and how to devise the experiments that truly represent the clinical situation with biomechanical principles for analysis of ligament tension, joint loading, fixation fatigue, etc., that represent sound scientific principles. |
